P95 9mm pistol
by: Old Smoothie
smooth, accurate , feels good in hand and all without breaking the bank. I have had mine for 10 years and still love it. It's my favorite gun to carry and I believe any bad guy would definately respect it.

i bought mine just ealier on specail order today anxiously waiting for it to come in. I read nothing but good things of this gun. I've shot it making 3 inch groups at 25 yards. So with all the good reviews and renting this gun for the feel the gun let alone the price tag is the best on the market for my taste and feel. I like reliable and durable. Kinda blocky but that makes it thick and sturdy.

The P95 was a last minute choice for me. This was based solely on its looks. At first, it seems blocky and mundane. After shooting it though, it seems to take on a greater appeal. It really does feed everything that I've given it and the design allows for dead accurate shooting by even the most novice of standards. I was apprehensive about the completely poly frame and what sort of frictional abuse it could withstand. I've put a thousand rounds through it and no wear seems evident on the frame where it contacts the slide. A close inspection shows that this is because of the different approach to barrel and spring design. The pivot of the two piece assembly almost completely keeps the barrel a straight horizontal plane through case discharge and return of the slide. This design also removes slide contact with the frame while providing great accuracy. Every piece of this gun is tough, well machined, and capable. It is my favorite firearm in my collection because of this. I own 4 Rugers and a variety of other makes and models, and this one represents the best value of any gun that I've handled. That said, it does have one glitch and a minor one at that. When new or unmaintained for a great length of time, the extractor is set kind of tight and will prevent a cartridge from chambering. The bullet doesn't jam or stovepipe. It just doesn't come all the way up into rearward position on the slide. A slow manual load will demonstrate this. to immediately resolve it, just push the slide forward with your thumb and the slide moves the rest of the way forward. After a couple hundred rounds it quits happening or you could just clean the weapon and while disassembled, work the extractor spring just a bit to loosen its grip on the bottom of the bullet casing. I've seen this on three different P series 9mm models from different owners. Same problem and same fix every time.

The P95 was my first handgun and it is a great gun. I regret selling it when I bought my Glocks and Beretta PX4. I'm in the market for a new one. I thought abot the new Ruger 9mm, but it's still very new and I'm not sure if the bugs have been worked out yet. The P95 was fun to shoot and handled any type of ammo I fed it. I feel comfortable trusting the P95 with my life. It is kind of blocky and not that attractive but a fine weapon - and you cannot beat the price!

p95 Buy It!

We shot Berrettas in AF. I'm a smaller man and I really loved the everything about the Berretta, but let me tell you what... if you're a smaller guy and you want a gun that just feels right in your hand, that shoots, at least for me, better than a berretta, buy this gun. You won't be sorry. You can just feel that nitty gritty synchronicity when you squeeze the trigger. It's a smooth shooter I tell ya, and you'll definitely see the difference when you look at your target. In a word, ACCURATE! When I shoot it I don't feel like i'm yanking or pulling too deliberately with the trigger... it just slides back and you're thinking yeah, any second now it will go off, and then it goes off and you really don't get caught up in consciously compensating for recoil. It shoots that smooth. I don't have a lot of experience with shooting guns and even I am a good shot with this beautifully functioning piece of ART. I'd call it a target pistol for competition shooting for men who are experienced shooters. It's a great gun for someone who has the recoil flinching problem like I do, because it shoots so smooth and sure. You'll see what I mean if you buy it. I got my 2nd hand for around $275.00. People are always trying to buy it, but I'm keeping mine. I just am. Keep it hid because people will try to steal it, yes, it is that desirable. Also, don't go out in public with it w/o a permit. The police will try to take it away from you just out of jealousy because it is probably a lot nicer gun than what they have. BE RESPONSIBLE, never drink around a gun, never grab a gun in anger, and remember that it is for your defense. Do not abuse any firearm. Respect it, respect yourself, and realize that for the money this is the best handgun you can buy. Still haven't shot the likes of Gloc, and everyone raves about them, so I can't really compare it to a Gloc. Still, I would take this gun over the beretta we shot in the AF any day of the week. (i know, gloc people love their glocs. still, at least until i shoot a gloc, i'll be a ruger man. you'll never hear anyone put ruger down, especially not this high quality piece of perfection. o.k. i have to go kiss my p95 goodnight. yes, i love it that much.) ;P
